Texas flag was presented to Jarrell ISD on Texas Independence Day. The celebration was enjoyed by the Elementary School classes.
San Gabriel Lodge presented the Community Builder Award to Sergeant Shariff Mezayek in recognition for the work he performs with the youth in the school district and for his leadership in the DARE program.
Nolan Creek Prince Hall Lodge #227 in Belton, Texas, invited San Gabriel members and family members to attend their Lodge Banquet March 18th, 2017. Those who attended had a wonderful time meeting and visiting with the members of Nolan Creek Lodge. Cordial relations have formed between the members of the two lodges.

Nine Texas flags, which were flown over our great State’s capital, have been presented to San Saba Lodge #612, Goldthwaite Lodge #694, Mullen Lodge #806, Brady Lodge #628 and Camp San Saba Lodge #555. The flags were then presented to: San Saba ISD, Richland Springs ISD, Cherokee ISD, Goldthwaite ISD, Priddy ISD, Mullin ISD, Brady ISD, Rochell ISD and Lawn Elementary School.
The lodges were ALL very happy to receive the flags and wanted me to pass on their appreciation for being involved with this program. Scottish Rite programs like this, renews our historic ties with public school education.

Lockhart Lodge, Luling (Hardeman Lodge), and Lytton Springs Lodge distributed the Grand Lodge dental packages in March.
Lockhart and Lytton Springs Lodges presented Texas flags to enthusiastic classes.
Lockhart Lodge is providing funds for four top ranked sophomores or juniors to attend a youth leadership conference on the former USS Lexington this summer.
Note: From time to time Brother Merlen presents The Toast to the Flag, having served as National President, National Sojourners, Inc. He will also be involved in the National Sojourners Annual National Convention to be held in Austin June 12-17, 2017.
Presented a program on community engagement to the Star of Texas Scottish Rite Club on April 11. The club is actively engaged in supporting the Valley in the lodges in their area. Flags were presented to all of the lodges in the Club’s area.
