Due to recent announcements made by local, state, and national agencies, the leadership of the Austin Valley, the Orient of Texas, and the Supreme Council of Scottish Rite Freemasonry has determined that it is in the best interest of our membership to cancel or postpone meetings or gatherings of the Scottish Rite until May 1, 2020.
Specifically, the Maundy Thursday / Remembrance and Renewal Stated Meeting scheduled for April 1st is cancelled. All practices scheduled for the spring reunion have been cancelled. All scheduled Scottish Rite activities from now until April 30, 2020 will be postponed or cancelled. The Scottish Rite leadership and local, state, and national levels will re-evaluate future activities on May 1st and communicate additional information at that time.
The General Secretary will continue to keep regular office hours and conduct the business of the Austin Valley at the Temple and offline unless circumstances change. The Austin Valley leadership is dedicated to the continued success of our Fraternity. More importantly we are dedicated to the safety and wellbeing of our members. Please consider the following directives from public health officials.
Please practice healthy hygiene habits to help prevent the spread of illness or germs by washing your hands frequently, covering your cough or sneeze, avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth and staying home if you are sick.
When you use a tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands. Consider refraining from using handkerchiefs as tissues.
Also, please make phone calls to your Brothers who may be at risk or in need to offer such assistance as is necessary.
Please forward or communicate this information to anyone who would benefit from it.
May the grace and blessings of the Great Architect of the Universe be with us all in these difficult times.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Brian Vance Don Eames,
Chairman & Personal Representative General Secretary
