Good morning dear Brothers,
I hope this communication finds you well and warm while we end the year with a brief chilly snap. As we prepare for the holidays and look forward to the new year, I would like to ask you to reflect on the year that is coming to an end.
The Austin Valley and the Central Texas Masonic Community has marked the passing of truly great Brothers who dedicated their lives to their community and to our Fraternity. The examples they have set for those left to carry on their work is laudable and distinguished. Let us reflect on the good that we recognized in these Brothers and the qualities that we admired in them. In the new year I ask that we try to emulate what we have seen to be praiseworthy in order to better ourselves and elevate our craft. Please consider the words of Brother Albert Pike who stated:
“What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”
I want to thank you all for your participation in the success of the Austin Scottish Rite Valley and the support you have provided over the past year. Let us pledge to work in harmony and with zeal and brotherly love as we look to the challenges and joys of the new year.
I wish you all and your families a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Wonderful New Year!
