Remembrance and Renewal
Brothers,
As we approach spring, we will be celebrating the memory of Brothers who have laid down their working tools in the last year and the renewal of our Scottish Rite bond. This ceremony is generally celebrated at our April meeting to align with Maundy Thursday and the vernal equinox.
The members of the chapter of Rose Croix will conduct the obligatory and solemn ceremony in remembrance of fallen Knights, and the extinguishing and re-lighting of candles to symbolize hope, resurrection, and the triumph of light over darkness.
I hope you will join us for a special dinner and stated meeting next Wednesday, April 1st at the Austin Scottish Rite Temple
– The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. during the Collegium meeting with a special presentation by Brother Christian Moore who will discuss obligatory meetings and the meaning of the ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal.
-Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. in the dining hall by Brother Chef Sentell and the members of the Garde Manger where we will hear the explanation of the Scottish Rite connection to Maundy Thursday and the Mystic Banquet.
-The stated meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. We will conduct the business of the Scottish Rite and perform the ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal.
**Time is running out to submit petitions for our Spring Reunion. Please bring all petitions to the stated meetings to be read and voted upon. **
Please join us for the stated meeting and the celebration of life. I look forward to seeing you all and enjoying a good meal and good fellowship with our Brothers.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
