Austin Scottish Rite of Freemasonry
A message from Ill. Brian Vance 33° IGH.
Brethren:
Your General Secretary and I just participated in a conference call with the SGIG and the leadership of all the Valleys in the Orient of Texas.
The SGIG will be sending out an updated version of his rules for the Orient shortly. In the meantime, I am sending this as a partial preview for your information and planning.
All Stated Meetings and physical meetings involving Scottish Rite clubs, groups, and committees are to be suspended until further notice.
Fall Reunions, as traditionally performed, present special challenges regarding distancing, shared costuming, etc. The likelihood of a reunion in our traditional format is unlikely.
Unlike many of the policies put out by the authorities whose formulations may include economic or political outcomes, the Scottish Rite’s policies are and will continue to be formulated with only the health and welfare of our members, their families, and the public with which we may come in contact.
We are most anxious to meet and see you again but we’ll have to wait a little longer. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Brian
