Brethren:
A little over a year ago, Brian Vance informed me that he planned to retire as the Personal Rep for the Valley of Austin sometime in 2023. He was slowly fading out from his professional obligations and wanted to also slow down his Masonic involvement. I have attended the monthly stated meeting for Austin and announced Brian’s retirement effective December 31, 2024. Brian will have served as Austin’s Personal Rep 11 years come the end of 2023. During that time has worked diligently to serve the Orient as well the Valley of Austin. For his commitment, I want to extend my personal thanks to Brian for his service and wish him well as he and Carol enjoy retirement. Brian is not disappearing, just stepping back from his leadership role, and will still be active in the Valley of Austin. I ask that you express your appreciation for his commitment to the Scottish Rite over the years and wish him the best.
I also announced that I am appointing Don Eames as the Personal Representative for the Valley of Austin as of January 1, 2024. He and I have discussed this opportunity over the last several months. He is qualified and knows the Austin Masonic landscape. I believe he will continue to be an asset to the Orient Leadership team and the Valley of Austin. Please welcome Don as the new Personal Rep for Austin come January.
As I have publicly made the announcement at the stated meeting, feel free to share this information if questions arise. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Thanks.
Mike
