Remembrance and Renewal
Brothers,
As we head into spring, we will be celebrating the memory of Brothers who have laid down their working tools in the last year and the promise of the new year in front of us. This ceremony is historically celebrated at our April meeting to align with Maundy Thursday. We have adjusted the calendar to allow for the April meeting and the Feast of Foundation to be held that month.
I hope you will join us for a special dinner and stated meeting this Wednesday, March 5th for the ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal.
– The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. during the Collegium meeting with a special presentation by Illustrious Russell Brown, 33° I.G.H. who will be enlightening us on the dedicated work done at the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. Brother Brown is a member of the Scottish Rite for Children’s Board of Directors and has great insight as to the many successes the hospital has performed that give children back their childhoods. Collegium Venerable Master Moore has arranged for this presentation in response to requests to know more about our charitable activities.
-Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. in the dining hall by Brother Chef Sentell and the members of the Garde Manger where we will here from Brother Craig Hammons who will explain the Scottish Rite connection to Maundy Thursday and the ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal.
-The stated meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. We will be hearing from Brother James Rader, President of the Austin Scottish Rite Dyslexia Foundation who will report on the good works of the Foundation.
Please join us for the stated meeting and the celebration of life. I look forward to seeing you all and enjoying a good meal, news of our good works, and Brotherhood.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Don Eames 33° IGH
