Hello my Brothers,
The time to assemble at the Austin Scottish Rite Temple to present the newest members with their caps and 14th degree Scottish Rite rings. I hope you will all join us Wednesday, February 5 at 5:30 p.m. for our stated meeting and capping ceremony.
The capping ceremony will be open to friends and family. Recommended dress code for members is coat and tie.
Brother Byron Webster will give a presentation during the Collegium Ecossaise beginning at 5:30 p.m. He has informed me that the content will be suitable for guests and family members who are interested in attending.
• The Collegium Ecossaises will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Family and guests are welcome to attend.
• Dinner will be served in the dining room at 6:30 p.m. by Brother Mike Sentell and the Order of the Garde Manger. Members of the Fall 2024 reunion class and their guests are guests of the Valley. Your meals are complimentary.
• At 7:30 p.m. we will go into the auditorium for a brief presentation and then we will get queued up backstage for the ceremony. You will be asked to line up in alphabetical order. You will then proceed through the Scottish Rite ring prop on stage to be presented with your cap, and ring.. You are welcome to have your spouse, member of your family, or guest accompany you for a photo opportunity in front of the ring.
Some will have family members or guests with them, some will not.
After the ring ceremony, we will invite the guests into the lobbies while we conduct a brief stated meeting. Many members will take their families home at that time, which is perfectly acceptable. Our meeting will continue for some time, which is a bit long to ask guests to wait in the lobby.
The capping ceremony is a great opportunity for you to get to know the new members and for them to appreciate the support and fraternal friendship we enjoy at the Austin Valley.
I hope to see you all there.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Don Eames 33 ° I.G.H.
