Passing of Barbara Silvus
Brethren,
It is with heavy heart that I am informing you of the passing of a long time fixture at the Austin Scottish Rite Temple. The former front office Secretary and Office Administrator, Barbara Silvus has passed away surrounded by family on Friday, October 11, 2019.
Barbara worked for the Scottish Rite Bodies for many years in the front office. She was a wealth of information about members and Lodges in the Central Texas area. She served as our database before there was such a thing as our current Sentinel system.
Barbara was a member of the Eastern Star during her life but was most known for her service to the Rainbow Girls. She was instrumental in reviving Austin Assembly #5, International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She served in many roles for the Rainbow Girls including State Grand Deputy for the Austin area. Her influence impacted many young minds in this organization.

Service on Tuesday, October 15 at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Pot of Gold or the Let’s Be Thankful Fund, Grand Assembly of Texas, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
